Hi! Welcome to my website! I hope you find something fun, interesting and/or thought provoking.
I was born over half a century ago (YIKES!) in San Francisco. Went to Catholic schools and was bitten by the Spiritual bug early on. My career in Information Technology took me through 16 years with Hills Bros. Coffee/Nestle and 2 years with Digital Microwave. Training was my game.
But the work I did for income was mainly to support my non-profit habits. Involvement with the Teen Club, Folk Group and Young Adult Ministry. First in the Catholic and then the Episcopal Church. In between jobs, I attended the School for Applied Theology at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley. A wonderful 9-month program. I worked one year as the Director of Campus Ministry at a Catholic College. I joined the Earthstewards trip to Belfast in Northern Ireland in 1982 and two subsequent gatherings, one in Washington DC and the 3rd back in Belfast.
I ended up leaving the Church altogether and later joined the Beloved Community (an online spiritual community), attended several gatherings, enjoyed the weekly emails and the music. Then the founder decided he wanted to have retreats so those of us around the world could meet in person. He chose Joshua Tree as the location and asked for volunteers to come and help.
That’s when I left my Silicon Valley job and in 2000 moved to Joshua Tree. It has been an adventure for sure! We ran 9 retreats and a pilgrimage to Croatia & Assisi in 18 months. Then it was time for the founder to move on. But I found my roots and my tribe here and am still here 24 years later!
Around all of this was my writing, poetry, songs and singing. That is the thread that ties all my adventures together. My greatest joy is to share my work and songs with anyone who cares to hear them. You’ll find the words to the songs here on the website as well as a link to (wherever they will be available for purchase).
Please enjoy the poetry, musings and music. And let me know if you have any comments for me.
I also publish a periodic newsletter titled “In and Out of the House” that lists local and online events and interesting connections. You are welcome to subscribe (and share)!
